Recycleable Engineering Competitions

The idea would be that we get a TON of plastic bottles, rubber bands, cardboard and other products that are typically thrown away after one or 2 uses and use those and only those as the materials for a short (2 - 3 hour) design competition.

Competitions could be:

Speed/Distance Races

Bridge Building

Tower Construction

Egg Drop Competition

the options are many and nearly limitless

This can just be a fun awareness raising event or a fundraiser. We might even be able to get sponsorships from eco groups in the area as this type of project is raising awareness of how huge a component the REUSE can be in the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle motto.

Prizes could be cash, gift certificates, gizmos or gadgets
